After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft.), highest motorable pass in the world. The pass offers spectacular views of the Zanskar range across the Indus Valley in the south, and the Saser massif in the north. Reach Deskit/ Hunder in the afternoon and check-in at your camp / hotel. Rest of the at leisure to explore Hundar and the white Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel Safari on the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). After breakfast drive to Turtuk which is first time opened for the tourist in 2010 and which is a place Annexed by India only after the 1971 war, the village of Turtuk is one of the only Balti villages in India and lies right next to the LOC. The village with the whole population of muslims still resembles mini Pakistan. The villages inhabitants still use traditional utensils which are crafted from stone. Explore the village of Turtuk the village offers views of beautiful valley, part of Shyok Valley. On clear days you can have glimpse of K2 mountain peak located across the border in Pakistan. Though a muslim village, there are few gompas located on the plateau above Shyok River and there is an old royal house to see in village. Return to Hundar by the evening. After breakfast, return to leh via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft. / 5486 meters), 3rd highest motorable pass in the world. The drive takes you through spectacular, amazing scenery, with breath-taking views of the snow covered Himalayas. En-route visits Thiksay Monestry, Shey palace photo halt.
